Compost day
On Saturday 12 March 2022, self-prepared compost will be distributed in and from our Kortenoord residential area for the first time.

Our mayor Floor Vermeulen will receive this compost firstfruits around 10.30 am at the Nieuwe Singel, because it is now time to harvest the first district compost. The program also includes an explanation of the process of composting green waste and the wish for more composting places in Wageningen. The compost sieving machine (made by Nico himself) will also be shown. We then invite the mayor to put the finishing touches to the compost himself: scoop compost into the rotary wheel, turn it and put the sifted compost in a ‘neighborhood compost bucket’. He can then go to his house to empty in the garden (and then bring it back? ).
Of course there is also an explanation of this neighborhood compost spot about the establishment and activities of Groen Kortenoord. Of course there is also room for a word from the mayor. Then we continue with the cutting of the ‘hurrah, we have compost pie’ and we will hand it out over tea and coffee, for whoever is there.
